Topsfield Fair held its first amateur wine competition last year, and this year, the competition has expanded to include a wine label contest. If you don’t grow grapes or make your own wine, you can still take part in the competition. Use your artistic talents and design a label for the front of a wine bottle.

The deadline for labels is Aug. 16, and they must be sent to the Administration Office at Topsfield Fairgrounds, Route 1, Topsfield, or to Alfalfa Farm Winery, 267 Rowley Bridge Road, Topsfield, by that date. Applications for both the new label competition and the amateur winemaking competition are available at the Administration Building or at the winery.
